Suisun City police address evidence issues

SUISUN CITY - Police Chief Ed Dadisho has requested a state agency evaluate his department's evidence room policies after he learned of two cases in which evidence was prematurely purged.

The evidence destruction, which occurred in 2006, didn't jeopardize the cases, Dadisho said. The chief wrote a letter to Police Officer Standards and Training in February to request an audit of the evidence room. Police will act on any recommendations POST representatives make.

POST representatives will probably meet with Suisun City police in late April, POST spokesman Bob Stresak said.
